Modular Desk and Chair Design for Smart Classrooms in Universities Based on KANO-AHP-FCE

Abstract

The work aims to design a modular desk and chair to meet the diverse teaching needs of university smart classrooms and optimize space utilization. User needs were collected through questionnaires and interviews, classified with the KANO model, and prioritized with AHP for weight ranking. On this basis, design practice was conducted, and the feasibility and rationality of the scheme were evaluated according to the FCE method. A modular desk and chair that met the diverse needs of university smart classrooms were designed, featuring core functions such as comfort, flexibility, and durability. Through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, the design was found to achieve a satisfactory level. In conclusion, a systematic design evaluation model is constructed by integrating the KANO model, AHP, and FCE, which is successfully applied to the design of modular desks and chairs for university smart classrooms. This model not only enhances the alignment of the design with teaching needs, but also provides a new theoretical framework and research approach for smart classroom furniture design.
