Abstract

The work aims to explore the innovative application of watermark prints language in new Chinese-style furniture design using AIGC technology, so as to enhance the aesthetic value and cultural depth of furniture design, provide empirical evidence for the transliteration between watermark prints and new Chinese-style furniture design, and promote the development of design innovation. Through a literature review, the artistic characteristics of watermark prints were identified, laying a foundation for subsequent creation using AIGC technology. Under the research framework of Kansei engineering, factor analysis was applied to the collected sensibility imagery vocabulary of new Chinese-style furniture, and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) was used to quantify their relative weights. This process helped obtain design concepts for new Chinese-style furniture that aligned with user sensibilities. By integrating AIGC technology, a batch of new Chinese-style furniture designs were generated. Through affinity diagramming, the sample cases that best met user sensibilities were selected. Then, by incorporating the language of watermark prints into these new Chinese-style furniture cases through AIGC, a sensibility assessment on the batch-generated new Chinese-style furniture was conducted using descriptive statistics. Finally, based on the data, the ultimate generation results were selected. In the context of the artificial intelligence era, the innovative application of integrating watermark prints language into the design of new Chinese-style furniture holds both theoretical significance and practical value. While respecting traditional Chinese culture, this exploration of the close integration of technology and art injects new vitality into the modern transformation of watermark prints and the innovative development of furniture design.
