Abstract

The purpose is to compare the reading performance of Mongolian and Chinese HAN users on different text configurations in the interface based on the EEG stimulus evoked and response experiments, so as to provide theoretical basis and methodological reference for the inclusive design for different ethnic groups. We selected Mongolian-Chinese bilingual users and Chinese HAN users as subjects, and used EEG event-related potential technology, referring to the Dotprobe paradigm, to conduct evoked event-related potential experiments with different text configurations in the interface as the target stimuli, and conducted ANOVA on behavioral response time and cognitive resource allocation to compare the effects of text configurations in the interface on the reading performance of Mongolian and Chinese HAN users. The results showed that there were differences in cognitive resources and reading performance between Mongolian and Chinese HAN users when they read different text configurations by P300 amplitude, and there were significant between-group effects under the conditions of text layout difference, word division difference, and line spacing difference, and there was an interaction effect between the groups under the condition of line spacing difference, and the Mongolian and Chinese HAN bilingual users consumed fewer cognitive resources and had a higher reading performance under the condition of 1.5 line spacing text configuration. Therefore, the time-varying difference of P300 latency can be used as an observation to measure the difference of cognitive processing mechanism of users of different nationalities under the stimulus of text configuration condition in interface design in the event-related potential technique.
