The work aims to construct a reuse and renewal mode of industrial heritage facilities from the narrative perspective, explore the cultural value of industrial heritage, extract and apply industrial facility elements to the redesign, and enhance the vitality of the factory area. By investigating and analyzing relevant basic data, a cognitive awareness of industrial heritage was formed and the elements within the factory area were extracted and transformed. Combined with the renewal of industrial heritage facilities, the research on the renewal design of industrial heritage facilities was conducted from the perspectives of material value and cultural value. As a result, a design method for updating industrial heritage facilities was constructed from the narrative perspective, establishing a sense of cultural identity, enhancing the narrative of industrial heritage, and promoting cultural inheritance and spiritual identity of industrial heritage. Starting from a narrative perspective, this study explores the main spirit, value inheritance, and place atmosphere of industrial heritage from three aspects of scene narrative, functional narrative, and cultural narrative. The unique value and characteristics of the heritage are used to evoke emotional resonance and cultural identity among participants, achieving harmonious coexistence between industrial heritage facilities and culture. By combining landscape optimization and typical small space optimization demonstrations, the study aims to activate the vitality within industrial heritage and create unique ways of updating industrial heritage facilities based on their own cultural memory points.
