Abstract

The work aims to delve into the avenues and methodologies for adapting Mongolian-Chinese bilingual fonts from a cultural ecology perspective, resolve the challenges posed by font adaptation in a multilingual environment and align with the societal demands for integrating diverse fonts. Drawing upon the cultural ecology theory, the cultural adaptability of multilingual fonts within their respective cultural ecosystems was investigated by translating Mongolian-Chinese bilingual fonts across three cultural strata:material, behavioral, and spiritual. This translation led to the screening of cultural ecological elements, the construction of adaptation methods, and ultimately, the optimization of Mongolian-Chinese bilingual font adaptation. Furthermore, the visual identity system design for the Moni Mountain Intangible Heritage Town is formulated, centered on exploring the design path and approach for Mongolian-Chinese bilingual font adaptation from a cultural ecology viewpoint. By emphasizing the adaptation design of Mongolian-Chinese bilingual fonts, the study explores the intricate relationship between multilingual fonts and a multicultural ecological environment. This exploration gives rise to novel ideas for the preservation of national languages, serves the multilingual social and public milieu, enhances the path towards multicultural recognition, and empowers the cultural and tourism endeavors of ethnic regions.
