Abstract

The work aims to explore innovative modular design for homestay furniture in Northern Guangxi, enrich styles of homestay furniture and provide a new design perspective and strategy for integrating regional culture into the homestay design. It analyzed the critical need for homestay transformation and its meaning, and extracted unique cultural genes in northern Guangxi. Through detailed data collection and market research, and based on the Logistic model, the characteristics and needs of homestay users in northern Guangxi were determined to guide the design. The shape grammar theory was applied to create modular units that blended aesthetics with regional charm, meeting diverse demands of homestay users in northern Guangxi. The modular homestay design strategy for northern Guangxi not only satisfied users, but also incorporated regional cultural elements. The modular homestay furniture design in northern Guangxi should give full consideration to the uniqueness of homestay and the diversified needs of tourists, so as to ensure the culture, safety, functionality and eco-friendliness of the design. This design strategy can enhance interactive experience, promote regional cultural inheritance, and help upgrade the homestay industry.
