Abstract
The work aims to improve the affordance of children's food packaging, create a good consumer experience for users, and increase the market sales of products. Firstly, a systematic analysis was conducted on the three design elements of children's food packaging, including its external form, usage, and emotional experience, as well as the mechanisms that influence users' overall perception of food packaging. Then, from the perspective of affordance, specific conceptual approaches were proposed to guide the expression of children's food packaging form, perception of usage, and formation of emotional experience, so as to enhance the affordance design of children's food packaging. Finally, the feasibility and rationality of the conceptual approach proposed in the article were verified through design practice. Guiding the design of children's food packaging through the theory of affordance can effectively help designers shape unique appearance attributes, express clear usage methods, and form a good user experience in the design process of children's food packaging, thereby improving the affordance of children's food packaging and providing users with the ultimate consumer experience. In addition, exploring the design approaches of children's food packaging from the perspective of affordance, on the one hand, actively explores the design ideas of children's food packaging, and on the other hand, is also an effective attempt to apply the theory of affordance to the field of children's food packaging design.
