Aging Friendly Design of Automotive Human-Computer Interaction Interface Based on KANO/AHP/AD Paradigm

Abstract

The work aims to accurately obtain user needs and improve the user experience of elderly drivers in using the automotive human-computer interaction interface. A research paradigm integrating KANO model, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and Axiomatic Design (AD) was constructed. Firstly, preliminary user needs were established through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews, and the KANO model was used to classify user need attributes. Secondly, AHP was introduced to establish an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model, and the need weights for each type of attribute were determined by constructing a judgment matrix. Then, combined with the AD theory, the translation of requirements-function-design was completed to form product design elements. Finally, an automotive human-computer interaction interface meeting the needs of elderly users was designed under the guidance. The SUS system usability score for the design scheme was 80.9, with a rating of A, indicating that the design scheme had good overall user satisfaction and had high usability. To some extent, this research paradigm makes up for the lack of single model research, and can provide more in-depth and comprehensive demand analysis and decision support for the decision-making of aging friendly human-computer interaction interface, so that it can make more scientific design schemes, and also provide new ideas for aging friendly design and product development.
