Design Translation of Quanzhou Marionette Cultural and Creative Products Based on Kansei Engineering and AIGC

Abstract

By constructing a design framework that integrates Kansei Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) technology, the work aims to preserve cultural features and incorporate user perception in the design translation process and explore innovative expression paths for traditional culture in contemporary contexts. Firstly, under the framework of Kansei Engineering, the core Kansei factors influencing the cultural perception of the Quanzhou marionette head were extracted. Secondly, LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) models were trained to reflect the cultural characteristics of the Quanzhou marionette and the form of cultural and creative products. These models were then integrated into Stable Diffusion (SD) for creative diversification. Finally, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to quantify user demand weights for cultural characteristics and product features, which were then mapped to the prompt parameters in the SD generation process, enabling the intelligent generation of cultural and creative products driven by user perception. Optimizing the key word input during the intelligent image generation process from the dimension of cultural perceptual factors influencing user perception could efficiently generate diverse design schemes for bookmark products with the style of marionette heads. Through Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation, these schemes met users' perceptual expectations for cultural and creative products. In combination with Kansei Engineering, this study integrates AIGC into the translation process from cultural elements to cultural and creative products to preserve the characteristics of intangible cultural heritage while incorporating user perception, thereby broadening the design approach for graphic-based cultural and creative products.
