Abstract

By taking ecological semiotics as a theoretical framework and focusing on the unique ecological and cultural resources of Yancheng wetlands, the work aims to solve the problems of shallow cultural expression and lack of ecological connotation in current wetland smart creative design, explore innovative design paths that combine cultural dissemination power and ecological value, promote the sustainable inheritance and dissemination of Yancheng wetland culture, and empower the cultural tourism industry. Based on the "nature-culture" interaction theory of ecological semiotics, the field survey method, symbolic deconstruction analysis method and interdisciplinary design practice method were comprehensively used. Firstly, the ecological landscape (such as migratory birds migration, mudflat landform) and human symbols (such as fishing salt culture, intangible skills) of Yancheng wetlands were systematically collected and classified. Furthermore, the deep meaning of ecological symbols was analyzed from multiple dimensions, including objects, representative items, and explanatory items; Ultimately, by combining user needs with market orientation, symbol translation and innovative design were completed. As a result, a "layered design model for ecological symbols" was proposed, forming a design process from symbol recognition (such as the form of red crowned cranes), meaning reconstruction (wetland symbiosis concept) to carrier transformation (functional products), and producing six types of smart creative products including wetland bird themed tea sets and dynamic light and shadow interaction devices. User research showed that the recognition of product ecological culture increased, and the feedback from market trial sales was good, which verified the effectiveness of the theoretical model. Ecological semiotic theory provides a systematic methodology for wetland smart creative design by integrating the narrative logic of natural and cultural symbols. It not only strengthens the ecological education function and regional cultural uniqueness of products, but also constructs an emotional connection between "human wetland culture", providing practical reference for cultural innovation and industrial development in similar ecologically sensitive areas.
