Design of Active Music therapy Devices Based on Modular Interaction

Abstract

The work aims to design an active music therapy device based on modular interaction, so as to address the problems of passive interaction, severe homogeneity, and lack of empirical evidence of effects in traditional sleep aid products, and meet users' core needs for improving sleep quality and actively participating in the healing process. An integrated design approach was adopted to construct a complete research method that combined the needs analysis process, design process and evaluation process. First, user journey maps were utilized to deeply explore users' pain points, expectations, and behavioral paths in bedtime scenarios; Second, a cluster analysis was conducted on the collected user needs and behavior data through affinity graphs to identify key design elements; Third, the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was adopted to construct an evaluation index system and calculate the weights of each design element to guide design decisions. At last, based on the design prototype, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was utilized to quantitatively assess and optimize key indicators such as the multi-sensory experience, ease of use, and healing effect of the device. In conclusion, a modular music therapy device integrating audio-visual interaction is successfully designed. Empirical evidence shows that it effectively improves sleep quality by stimulating users' active participation behavior, providing an innovative paradigm and practical reference for the design of active healing devices in smart and healthy homes.
