Intergenerational Shared Furniture Design Based on Symbiotic System

Abstract

The work aims to design a furniture that can be shared between generations to meet the needs of the elderly and the entertainment needs of children. A three-level assessment grid was constructed through EGM interviews, covering abstract reasons, middle-level assessment items and specific design conditions. Then, grey correlation analysis (GRA) was used to identify the key upper perceptual factors, and the morphological decomposition map was created according to the factors with the highest gray correlation degree. Then, the mapping relationship between the key perceptual factors and the product form was established through the fuzzy OF(D) model, so as to generate the most attractive children's rocking chair design scheme. The process was oriented to the emotional needs of users, and ambiguity OF(D) was used to identify the non-competitive constraints in the design, clarify the direction of innovation, and provide guidance for the next stage of product development. This method effectively improved the competitiveness of the design and optimized the product design process. In conclusion, this study proposes a design of intergenerational shared furniture based on symbiosis system, which is not only suitable for the elderly to exercise and relax at home, but also can provide entertainment for children. It is suitable for family environment and highly practical.
