IP Image Design of Coal Essence as Intangible Cultural Heritage from the Perspective of Peirce's Semiotics

Abstract

The work aims to construct an IP design framework by extracting the symbolic elements of intangible cultural heritage coal essence as the core, so as to provide new ideas for the design and application of intangible cultural heritage IP image, thereby realizing the active inheritance and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage. The morphological characteristics of intangible cultural heritage coal essence were analyzed, the main elements were extracted, the framework of Peirce ternary model was constructed, and specific implementable strategies were developed from three levels of representative items, referent objects and explanatory items. In order to verify the IP design implementation strategy of coal essence carving decoration features, the three characteristics of "imagery", "image" and "imagination" were used to validate the feasibility of the design project. The design and presentation of Fushun coal essence carving in the form of IP characters can not only enable the audience to have an in-depth understanding of coal essence carving skills, realize the effective protection and normalization of intangible cultural heritage, but also provide valuable inspiration and reference for the IP design of intangible cultural heritage carving.
