Sustainable Product Optimization Design under the Sharing Economy Model

Abstract

The work aims to explore the integration path of shared products and sustainable concepts under the sharing economy model, so as to address the sustainability issues of current shared products in terms of resource utilization, environmental impact, and social responsibility, construct a systematic design evaluation framework, optimize the resource recycling efficiency of shared products, and provide theoretical references for their future design improvements. The research was conducted through a combination of quantitative data comparison and case analysis. Multiple brands of shared bikes were selected for horizontal comparison and analysis of the same indicators, and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was introduced to construct a sustainability evaluation model. Indicators were set from three dimensions of environment, economy, and society to determine their advantages and disadvantages at the design level. Based on the analysis results, corresponding optimization design principles and methods covering aspects such as structural reuse, safety and comfort, coordination of benefits and environment, and service-oriented optimization, were proposed and matched with different types of sharing methods in a hierarchical manner. The sustainable design of shared products needs to achieve the goal of "shared design responsibility and usage rights" throughout the product's entire life cycle. By adopting standardized structures, universal modules, intelligent maintenance, and recyclable materials, the environmental friendliness and economic adaptability can be enhanced, promoting the coordinated progress of user experience, resource recycling, and social equity.
