Innovative Design of Jingdezhen Life Ceramics from the Perspective of Cultural Ecology

Abstract

To make Jingdezhen's profound ceramic culture and excellent skills still show vitality in contemporary society, the work aims to explore the path of transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and spread ceramic culture to the world. From the perspective of cultural ecology, the shape design was discussed. The user's perceptual demand characteristics in the aesthetic and functional experience of ceramic tea set were explored to provide the emotional design direction for ceramic design. 10 representative perceptual words were selected and users were invited to evaluate 28 ceramic tea set samples subjectively by Richter 7-level scale. Then, a correlation matrix was constructed for the score data, and principal component analysis (PCA) was used to summarize and extract the relationship between the perceptual words to verify the rationality of the clustering structure. Three main perceptual cognitive directions in ceramic tea set design were clarified, providing a basis for mapping user emotions into product functional design in the future. The conclusion provides data support and theoretical guidance for the realization of cultural inheritance and innovative development of Jingdezhen life ceramics in the new era, and offers references for cultural inheritance and innovation.
