Design of Children's Entertainment Facilities in Residential Areas under the Concept of Sharing

Abstract

The work aims to propose a design method for children's entertainment facilities in residential areas based on the sharing concept, to solve the contradiction between children's entertainment products in residential areas and intergenerational sharing needs. First, a systematic review of domestic and international literature from the past 10 years was conducted to identify research deficiencies. Second, 32 communities in 11 representative cities (including 4 first-tier cities, 4 second-tier cities, and 3 third-tier cities) were selected to investigate the current status of children's entertainment facilities through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Finally, a three-in-one design sharing guidance paradigm of "experience-creativity-integration" was constructed with the Huanghe Community in Suqian as a pilot. Taking the design of children's entertainment facilities in the Huanghe Community as an example, the key design points of children's entertainment facilities under the concept of sharing were identified, and an innovative design model for children's entertainment facilities was constructed based on the concept of "color design for visual and emotional needs + material selection for tactile needs + shape expression for perceptual needs + intelligent interaction for social needs". In conclusion, through the analysis of design elements and research on design practice methods for "shared" children's entertainment facilities in public spaces in the Huanghe Community residential area, a design method framework for "shared experience", "shared creativity", and "shared integration" children's entertainment facilities was established, providing theoretical support for the construction of child-friendly communities. It promotes the diversity of community shared spaces and provides examples for the design practice of community children's entertainment facilities, which has important guiding significance.
