The work aims to study the shape changes of rhino horn cups from Dehua Kiln and combine with the humanistic, geographical, and cultural characteristics of the kiln's location to explore the craft culture of Dehua Kiln. With the method of pattern quantization, the cups of different shapes were divided into different patterns based on archaeology, and then the contours of the samples were extracted to establish a pattern quantization table. Finally, through the data analysis, the evolution law of the shape of the white-glazed rhino horn cup and its derivative cup in Dehua Kiln was discussed. The white-glazed rhino horn cup is a unique cup shape of the Dehua Kiln, with its distinctive shape serving as the basis for the evolution of different cup shapes. The shape evolution laws reflect the design characteristics of the Dehua Kiln, such as inheritance, practicality, and timely transformation.
