Design Strategy and Practice of Public Furniture in Intangible Cultural Heritage Villages Based on the KANO Model

Abstract

As an important field for carrying rural culture, intangible cultural heritage villages are also a key field for cultivating new quality productivity of rural culture. The work aims to explore how to enhance the cultural atmosphere and spatial efficiency of intangible cultural heritage villages by enhancing the functionality and cultural attributes of rural public furniture. The KANO model was innovatively utilized to provide practical guidance for cultural space theory, transcending the limitations of traditional single quantification, deconstructing users' implicit cultural demands through in-depth interviews based on the grounded theory, and combining the priority of KANO questionnaire quantitative functional attributes to construct a dynamic design strategy of "demand stratification-cultural translation-material adaptation". The integration of functional improvement and cultural enhancement demands into KANO's five dimensions for precise design significantly improved the quality of public furniture in Tutao intangible cultural heritage villages of Kashi, reshaping the cultural attributes of intangible cultural heritage village space. This study adapts the KANO model to the context of intangible cultural heritage and constructs a methodological framework of "precise deconstruction of demands-cultural symbol translation-design verification iteration", providing a replicable interdisciplinary research paradigm for the spatial activation of similar intangible cultural heritage villages.
