Design of Express Packaging with Reduced Plastic Usage in Response to the "New Plastic Limit Order"

Abstract

To effectively tackle the environmental pollution caused by plastics in express packaging, as mandated by the "new plastic limit order", the work aims to find good ways to lessen plastic usage in express packaging design. By clearly defining the requirements and standards for "plastic reduction" in industry, relevant solutions and design methods were proposed to address the challenges encountered during the process of reducing plastic in express packaging. From a design perspective, the design strategies for reducing plastic in express packaging were systematically explored, emphasizing the development and application of alternative materials, design of non-plastic products for express packaging, research and development of circular sharing packaging systems, and establishment of recycling systems. Through practical design implementation, the feasibility of reducing plastic usage in express packaging is verified. This approach not only introduces new forms of design for express packaging but also offers innovative solutions from a fresh perspective to address environmental pollution resulting from plastic use in this industry. Ultimately, these efforts will within the field of green-oriented express packaging.
