Abstract

The work aims to explore the behavioral intention and influencing factors of the elderly group on the use of healthcare technology from the perspective of intergenerational support, and to propose corresponding design strategies. Based on the healthcare technology acceptance model (H-TAM) and the intergenerational support theory (IST), the effects of the technology acceptance dimension and the intergenerational support dimensions (emotional, instrumental, and financial support) on the technology acceptance behavior intention (BI) of the elderly were systematically analyzed through questionnaire survey, structural equation model (SEM) and case analysis. Perceived ease of use (PEOU, β=0.355) and perceived usefulness (PU, β=0.262) significantly positively affected behavioral intention (BI), and PEOU had a significant promoting effect on PU (β=0.825). Intergenerational affective support indirectly promoted behavioral intention by enhancing the social influence (β=0.769) and subjective well-being (β=0.681), and intergenerational instrumental support directly promoted behavioral intention by improving perceived ease of use (β=0.836) and indirectly affected behavioral intention through perceived ease of use (β=0.297). Intergenerational financial support indirectly enhanced behavioral intention by improving subjective well-being (β=0.164), but the effect was weak. Subjective well-being (β=0.200) and convenience (β=0.287) had a positive effect on behavioral intention. The design of healthcare technology should focus on simplifying the operation process, reducing the invasiveness of technology, and integrating intergenerational support attributes to enhance the willingness of the elderly to use it. This study provides a theoretical basis and practical strategies for the development and promotion of geriatric health technologies, and emphasizes the key role of intergenerational interaction in bridging the "digital divide".
