Under the background of the deep integration of cultural digitization and design innovation, the contemporary translation and regeneration of Chinese traditional patterns are facing the double challenges of the fault of the pattern symbols and the mismatch of the technological support. With the automotive CMF as the object of research, the work aims to explore the application of XR technology-enabled traditional patterns in the automotive CMF, so as to provide ideas and references for the current research on the inheritance and innovation of the Chinese traditional culture and the design of the automotive CMF. Firstly, Chinese traditional patterns were sorted out and classified, the feature isomorphism of symbols and traditional patterns was employed to study the traditional pattern translation and regeneration framework of pattern semantic transfer expression, linguistic restructuring rules, and linguistic situational integration, and then the automotive CMF design process based on traditional patterns was put forward. Secondly, combined with XR technology, the pattern database for immersive experience was constructed and the multimodal fusion interaction model was designed to achieve the immersive experience of traditional patterns in the automotive CMF. Finally, the experiments on the translation and regeneration of traditional patterns in automotive CMF based on XR technology were carried out with the ZEEKR brand as the practice object, and the semantic difference scale was used to evaluate the design scheme. A set of CMF design methodology system integrating traditional patterns and XR immersive interactive experience technology was formed, which significantly improved users' cognitive participation and emotional resonance of traditional cultural connotations, and the case of ZEEKR brand verified the feasibility and validity of the methodology in enhancing the cultural value of the CMF design, the quality of the user experience and the brand recognition. The innovative combination and application of the meaning and connotation of traditional Chinese patterns, pattern translation and regeneration research method, XR technology and automotive CMF design has empowered the value of automotive CMF design in the inheritance and innovation of traditional patterns, the multi-modal interaction of XR technology, the integration of virtual and real, and the optimisation of user experience, expanding the new paradigm of innovative design for China's automotive industry.
