Grouping Path Analysis of Digital Museum Revisit Intention Based on IPA-fsQCA

Abstract

Against the backdrop of integrating digitalization and sustainability, digital cultural consumption exhibits new characteristics and driving forces. Using the Hebei Museum's digital museum as a case, this study explores the multiple configurational factors influencing consumers' revisit intentions from an interdisciplinary perspective. An IPA-fsQCA empirical framework was constructed for this purpose. First, Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) mapped the museum's current development, providing a visual reference for optimization. Next, an influencing factor model was built by integrating information ecology concepts. Finally, fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) identified seven sufficient configurational paths driving revisits, which are categorized into three types: social-dominated digital culture cognitive, demand-oriented external popularity stimulated, and digital ecology-demand matching synergistic. Based on these findings, three optimization strategies are proposed for the Hebei Museum: deepening cultural content to design empowering cultural spaces, leveraging digital technology to stimulate active user participation, and understanding digital social networking to adapt to fragmented communication trends.
