Abstract

In 2022, the "Chinese Traditional Tea Making Techniques and Related Customs" was successfully inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, highlighting the importance of tea culture protection and inheritance. However, elderly groups often face challenges in tea practice due to auditory and visual decline, operational inconvenience, and safety concerns, limiting their access to cultural information and weakening the ritual experience. Focusing the scene of elderly groups engaged in tea practices and using an intelligent tea table as a carrier, the work aims to explore ways to enhance cultural perception experience through intelligent means and achieve knowledge transfer without compromising the ritualistic aspect of tea practice. Firstly, the structural characteristics of perceptual knowledge in tea culture were analyzed, and a role model was constructed where intelligent tea sets served as "cultural guides and collaborators". Secondly, based on the Kano model, an intelligent tea table system was built, including modules such as tea leaf identification, voice guidance, and information display, and a prototype was designed. Finally, user interaction experiments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the system in terms of cultural understanding and user experience. The results of the user interaction experiments showed that culture-oriented interaction design could significantly enhance users' ability to recognize core knowledge of tea culture and their active participation. At the same time, this design lowered the learning threshold for beginners and enhanced the coherence and cultural resonance of the activity without compromising the ritualistic aspect of tea practice. The design of intelligent tea sets should not be limited to functional automation, but should serve as a medium and transmission channel for cultural experience. This positioning reflects the application potential of intelligent technology in the field of cultural inheritance and provides new ideas for the intelligent development of intangible cultural heritage returning to daily life.
