Innovative Design Exploration of the "Wild Bee" Low-altitude eVTOL Based on Bionic Theory

Abstract

To solve the multi-objective collaborative optimization problems of the eVTOL in terms of endurance, lightweight design and safety redundancy, the work aims to propose a systematic solution drawing on bionic design theory. By decoupling the flight and functional characteristics of creatures, a bionic design framework applicable to the multi-objective optimization of the eVTOL was constructed. A full-chain design methodology consisting of "biological function decoupling-interdisciplinary principle analysis-multi-objective optimization-system integration" was established. Furthermore, bionic coupling design and verification were carried out with the GFUT 002 "Wild Bee" eVTOL as a case study. The "Wild Bee" flying vehicle achieved an 8% reduction in airframe weight via bionic design, which effectively improved the comprehensive performance of the eVTOL in lightweight design, endurance and safety. Bionic design theory can effectively support multi-objective collaborative optimization and system innovation of the eVTOL, advance the paradigm shift of bionic engineering from simple biological imitation to systematic innovation, and provide theoretical support and technical approaches for the intelligent development of future urban three-dimensional transportation equipment.
