Translation of Song Dynasty's Porcelain Aesthetics in Ceramic Keycap Design from the Perspective of Emotional Design

Abstract

Based on Norman's three-level theory of emotional design, the work aims to explore the innovative application of Song Dynasty's porcelain aesthetics in ceramic keycap design to enhance users' emotional experience. The emotional connotations of the core dimensions of Song Dynasty's porcelain aesthetics, such as shape, glaze color, and decoration were analyzed systematically. The KJ method was used to identify users' emotional needs, while the KANO model was constructed to quantitatively evaluate these needs and establish their priorities. The emotional design theory was applied to transform user needs into specific design indicators. An "instinct-behavior-reflection" translation model was constructed to produce concrete design schemes. The findings clarified users' core design needs for ceramic keycaps, successfully converting these needs into design elements, and proposed actionable emotional translation strategies. Ceramic keycaps, as high-frequency interactive digital accessories, can achieve the integration of cultural heritage, product innovation, and user emotional satisfaction through systematic emotional translation, offering methodological and practical references for the modern translation and innovative design of traditional cultural elements.
